Ageism at the Intersections in London: Identity, Discrimination & Creative Action

Join us for a free online workshop in partnership with Age UK London.

Flourishing Lives, the Flourishing Lives Advisory Group (FLAG), and Age UK London invite you to our free online workshop exploring ageism at the intersections in London – and how creative action can help to combat ageism.

We are pleased to invite you to this webinar looking at ageism in London and how and when people are experiencing it. Age UK London will share findings from their research with nearly 1,400 older Londoners conducted at the start of this year.

The research explores how different Londoners are experiencing ageism and how it interacts with other experiences, including experiences of other forms of discrimination. The findings indicate how ageism is making Londoners feel and to what extent they do or don’t feel confident to speak out against it.

In the workshop participants will discuss experiences of ageism in different settings including the transport network, retail, and health care, and what might be done to tackle it through campaigning and creative actions.

The workshop will be an opportunity for arts and wellbeing organisations and practitioners to deepen their awareness and understanding of ageism – and discuss how arts and wellbeing services can help contribute to tackling ageism.
